In this magical realm, where the moonlight shone brighter than the sun, lived a special dragon named Selene. Selene was not like any other dragon. Her silver scales glimmered in the moonlight, and her wings sparkled with stardust. But what made her truly special was her power to bring dreams to life.
Every night, when the children of the world fell asleep, Selene would soar across the sky, carrying with her the dreams they whispered into the night. She was known as the Dragon of Dreams, and she visited every child, bringing them wonderful dreams filled with joy, adventure, and magic.
One evening, as Selene prepared to take flight from her home in the clouds, she noticed something strange. A young boy named Leo, who lived in a small village at the edge of the world, was having a terrible nightmare. He was trapped in a dark forest, chased by shadows, unable to find his way out.
Selene could feel the fear and sadness radiating from Leo’s dream. She knew she had to help. Without hesitation, she swooped down from the sky and entered Leo’s dream.
The forest was cold and eerie, with twisted trees and shadows that moved like creeping fog. Selene landed softly beside Leo, who was curled up under a tree, trembling with fear.
“Hello, little one,” Selene said gently, her voice soft like the wind.
Leo looked up in surprise, his eyes wide with disbelief. “Who… who are you?” he stammered.
“I am Selene, the Dragon of Dreams,” she said with a kind smile. “I’m here to help you.”
Leo rubbed his eyes, unsure if he was dreaming or awake. “You’re… a real dragon?”
Selene nodded. “Indeed, I am. And I can take you away from this nightmare.”
Leo stood up, still feeling the cold grip of fear. “But how? The shadows… they won’t leave me alone.”
Selene stretched out her shimmering wings. “Climb onto my back, and I will show you the way out.”
Hesitantly, Leo climbed onto Selene’s back, holding on tightly. As soon as he was settled, Selene spread her wings and lifted off the ground. They soared high above the dark forest, and for the first time in Leo’s nightmare, he felt safe.
“Look down,” Selene said.
Leo peered over the edge of her wing, and to his amazement, the shadows below began to shrink. The further they flew, the smaller and less frightening the shadows became. Soon, they were nothing more than tiny specks of dust, disappearing into the distance.
“You see,” Selene explained, “nightmares are only as big as we let them be. Once you face them, they begin to fade away.”
Leo smiled for the first time since his nightmare began. “Thank you, Selene. I feel so much better.”
But Selene wasn’t finished yet. “Now, let me show you something wonderful.”
With a powerful beat of her wings, Selene flew higher and higher, taking Leo beyond the clouds and into the night sky. The stars sparkled around them, and the moon bathed them in a soft, silvery light. It was the most beautiful sight Leo had ever seen.
“Where are we?” Leo asked in awe.
“This is the realm of dreams,” Selene said. “It’s where your happiest thoughts live. Here, you can imagine anything you want, and it will come to life.”
Leo’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Anything?”
“Anything,” Selene replied.
Leo closed his eyes and thought of his favorite things: flying over mountains, swimming in clear, blue oceans, and running through fields of golden flowers. As soon as he thought of them, they appeared around him. He was flying through the sky, swimming in the ocean, and running through the fields, all at once.
Selene watched with a smile as Leo’s dream unfolded around him, filled with joy and wonder. This was her favorite part of being the Dragon of Dreams—helping children create their own beautiful worlds.
After what felt like hours of fun, Selene gently brought Leo back to the village where he lived. The sky was beginning to lighten with the first hints of dawn.
“It’s time for you to wake up, Leo,” Selene said softly. “But remember, the world of dreams will always be there for you, whenever you need it.”
Leo hugged Selene tightly. “Thank you for saving me, Selene. I’ll never forget you.”
Selene smiled, her eyes twinkling like the stars. “And I’ll always be watching over you. Sweet dreams, little one.”
With that, Selene spread her wings and flew back into the sky, disappearing into the light of the rising sun.
When Leo woke up, he felt calm and happy. He knew that no matter how scary his nightmares might be, he would always have the power to overcome them with the help of the Dragon of Dreams.
And from that day on, whenever Leo closed his eyes to sleep, he would think of Selene and the magical realm of dreams, knowing that he was never alone.
